The wines of the Villány Wine Region are considered to be wines truly exceptional quality.
Although the region was once known for “Olaszrizling”, it is the big bold reds that have helped put Villany on international wine maps again.
The most expensive reds in the country are produced here, generally based on the Bordeaux varieties of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc that can compare well with similar red wines from Western European wine growing regions.
