Liquid gold! Visit world famous Tokaj wine region on a private wine tour.
Tokaj wine route is in the maybe most famous historical wine region of Hungary, its fame long predated this distinction because it is the origin of Tokaji aszu, the world’s oldest botrytized wine.
Tokaj wine region, a good two hours trip from Budapest – has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002.
During the tour we show and tell everything about Hungarian wines, specially about Tokaj-wines, visit a cellar, see the Tokaj Museum, learn all about, how the “aszu” is produced, and also taste the legandary wines of the region.
The wine region consists of 28 named villages and 11,149 hectares of classified vineyards.
Other famous and historical wineries locates in Bodrodkeresztur’s picturesque settlement, where we taste some characteristic wines of the region in an old cellar! Mád boasts with one of the most exclusive restaurants of Hungary, and a newly founded winery, which offers not only winetasting, but visit of the cellars in frame of a little game! Visit is optional, not included in the price.
The greatest event of the region is the Grape Harvest Feast in Tokaj, usually held every year in October. Ask for actual date and programs!
