The large Neoclassical building on Heroe’s Square – designed by architects Albert Schickedanz and Fülöp Herczog- originally built for the Millenium Celebrations, was completed in 1896. Its portico is in the Greek revival style. In the tympanon above the entrance one can see King Saint Stephen’s and his court’s mosaic. The stuccos and outside decorations were delivered by the famous Zsolnay Ceramic Manufacture.
The three-bayed, semi-circular apse houses a roofed exhibition hall with skylights. Hall of Arts has no permanent collection, exhibits works of contemporary arts, by exposing young talents, beside well-established artists. Sometimes also auctions and social events are held here.
